Criteria 12 – Four-plex Outlet Locations: Placed in master bedroom, home office, garage, and recreation or family room.

In most homes you only have two outlets beside the bed.  One is usually a switched outlet that lets you turn on a light beside the bed from a switch beside the door, and the other outlet is used for your clock radio.  If you have electric blankets, cell phones, electric beds, foot-warmers or other accessories, where do you plug those in?Bedrooms are where you commonly see a lot of accessories vying for too few plugs.                                                                                                                                      SAFERhome requires a 4-plex outlet on each side of the Master bedroom bed location.  That’s right, a 4-plex outlet on both sides for a total of 8 outlets within easy reach.
